Step #1: Cook all pulses ( Dal ) together in a cooker.
Step #2: Now, Put oil in another bowl and add mustard seeds, asafoetida ( Hing ), and curry leaves for splattering.
Step #3: After that, add finely chopped onion. Saute the onion till it turns brown. Now add finely chopped tomato to it.
Step #4: Add turmeric and red chilies to this mixture. Saute all the mixture well.
Step #5: Then grind the cooked dal together. Then add coriander. Add a little water and salt and let the dal cook well on medium heat. The dal should be thick.
Step #6: Finally the time for the tadka. Heat some oil in a pan. Add finely chopped garlic cloves, cumin seeds, and two dry red chilies and fry it. And add all the thick dal mixture to it. ( The dal mixture should be thick before frying. Making it too thin can spoil the taste. )
